Laser Welded Plate Heat Exchangers - Semi Welded & Double Wall

Semi Welded Plate Heat Exchangers are as flexible as gasketed heat exchangers while enhancing the application range for PHEs for use with aggressive liquids and gases, such as ammonia and aggressive process chemicals where suitable elastomers are not available to act as a sealant between the plates. In the case of ammonia refrigeration, the reduced hold-up volume results in significant additional savings.

Aggressive media (for example ammonia or sulphuric acid or solvent like toluene) flows in the welded channels. Non-aggressive media (like brine or water) passes through the gasketed channels. The unit can easily be disassembled to replace gaskets or to take care of other maintenance.

For some models, PTFE Ring Gaskets are also available.*

Semi Welded PHE product program included 9 plate sizes with connection sizes from DN25 to DN250. All plate sizes are available in high and low theta versions as well as shallow and deep corrugations. By combining different plate patterns, six different channel types are possible resulting in an optimally sized heat exchanger with an excellent price-performance ratio and low lifecycle cost.

Heat transfer plates are available in SS304, S316L, SMo254, Titanium Gr 1 and Gr 11, Nickel 200/201, Hastelloy c276, C2000.

Gaskets are available in Nitrile (NBR), Hydrogenated NBR (HNBR), EPDM, FKM, Neoprene (CR), PTFE

Double Wall Plates

Laser welding technology has also helped us in developing double wall plates. The double plates are constructed by laser welding 2 identical plates around the ports. These double wall plates offer maximum safety against intermixing of the two fluids in the plate type heat exchanger.

The thin air gap between the plates ensures that if any one of the two fluids would leak through the first plate it would leak to atmosphere and would be visible outside.

Double Wall PHEs are a compact solution to conventionally used double wall shell and tubes and double coils.
